I am so thrilled that I can say tonight that I'm not ashamed to be your neighbor without a u. I have been ashamed of my country for so long. And I didn't let myself hope for Obama for a long time, too. I was so afraid of being disappointed. But the hope and change that he talks about is infectious. I am so happy with the election results. For once, I have hope that things are going to get better. I know the name gets bandied about a lot, but I wonder if this is how people felt after Kennedy was elected.
Honestly...'scrappy American' is I think the best compliment I've heard for us in a while. I love that phrase! And thank you for caring. I hope the rest of the world gives us another chance too.
