Saturday - left NC around 9:30 a.m., got to MI around 9 p.m., picked up Buddy's pizza

I feel about this break the way I feel about Christmas Eve - I love having it to look forward to. Although I want the days to hurry up (which we're at the home stretch here), I worry about actually getting ON break cuz that means we're closer to going back. - So it's day 1 of week 4 of surgery and I am still alive to tell about it. I really don't want to jinx it, but I have been fortunate that this rotation has really gone by at a good pace. It is 7:03 and I feel better now sitting here and enjoying a cup of coffee than I would I think if I slept in all the way until 10 or so. That's not saying I won't take a nap later, but my goodness. As I said on my facebook status today, I used to have this problem where I'd wake up an hour or so before my alarm and just toss and turn like crazy, with racing thoughts and almost daydream-like states of diagnosing people. It feels so good to be home! I got off around 5:30 on Friday and booked it back to my apartment, grabbed my stuff, then headed for the road. It's a long drive but so worth it. 3 and a half hours. I was home by 9 and Ryan had Chinese food waiting for us :) It's a wonder that both of us were even able to keep our eyes open past 9:30 but I think just ( Read more... )
