By now, everyone knows of the horrible events at Virginia Tech. beegirl_01 told me that she knew someone on the campus, and we both wonder whether she's all right. And yes, da_zhuang and sinspired, it immediately brought to mind the time at PSU. The strange thing is, it also set in motion a rather depressing train of thought

Julie is fine. She was home for the weekend and was on her way back to school when it happened.

It's not a negative mindset. There's no one way you're supposed to look at your country. There are only different ways that different people with different agendas hope you might look at your country.

My personal agenda instructs that you just look around, see what's there, hear both sides of every story, be flexible, and be realistic.

(Now, if only I could consistently follow my own advice, I'd be in good shape.)
