So. Back in December of 2007, after my dad's accident, I did a lot of thinking. There was one thing that my dad had said in the hospital that really stuck in my head. When he was still fully paralyzed, and the physical therapist asked him "what would you like to do" (expecting to hear- "walk" or "feed myself" etc...) my dad said "play golf". And ( Read more... )

Honestly, it changed my whole way of thinking. My gut has always been to say "no". I scare easily :) It was really liberating to literally remove the "no" option. And man was my year that much more amazing!! (plus, it helps to tell everyone you are doing it, so even if you try to chicken out- like I did with the mechanical bull- they can goad you into it) :)
I've already kept it up this year, even though it was supposed to be a one year thing. It was just too awesome to stop!!
