I don't think that I'll really have any happiness or hopefulness related to government until I see "Obama Wins" across the news websites on November 5th. Until then I kind of figure that regardless of how bad a choice the Republican ticket is, the majority of stupid Americans added to sheer corruption and cheating of the system will = McCain wins.

McCain's choice was certainly unexpected, though, and boy do some of her stances just rub me the wrong way. When Concerned Women for America and Focus on the Family like a candidate, I loathe them.

She has no formal education when it comes to law or politics. She has a BA in journalism and that's it. I do not know how she segued into politics. Maybe her buddies at FFL put in a good word for her, or good money.

God knows how he ended up picking her. Apparently he made history in more than one way, not only is she the first woman for VP on a GOP ticket she is also the least qualified person to be on any major party ticket in modern history:
