Love RAT trials at Elma, love it better when it's not pouring rain. Started out with Master standard on Saturday...and as you can see, Tru started out'normal'...until the third obstacle, about the top of the dog walk...and it was tough going from there. I've never had a fearful dog, and Tru has never been fearful in the ring except at Corvallis ( Read more... )

It was so sad to see scared, trotting Tru and so awesome to see him come back! Good boy Tru! :)

It was VERY difficult to hold my emotions out of the picture for HIS sake...and to just keep loving and helping him through his fear. But each run, I got a little glimpse of his 'Tru' self, which spurred me on to help HIM. And 'we' did it! I am proud of us both, but especially him, for his task was WAY greater than mine. He is such a good boy, and I am SO proud of him! Thanks for your encouragment too!!

No problem! We've been working through this with Zach's Boss. Blazing fast her first few trials, then so scared running out of the ring. Still not a 100 percent, but better.

Hey. My husband and I are coming to Oregon this weekend. Can you tell me some good places to go hike with our dog. Nothing that requires any special gear but has pretty back ground ,maybe mountains? Also any recommendations for things my husband can do while I'm at a DP dog camp! Thanks so much! Diana

LUCKY!!! I was tempted to take the 'extra' spot, but decided to do the UKI at Daisy's instead...you will love it I'm sure! As far as hikes go...the Gorge is probably the most exciting...but a ways away from Daisy's. (I live 4 hours south)Mulino is kind of in the boonies...so ask Daisy or Shelly or others at the camp...and they can better advise on some close hikes and things for hubby to do. Have fun!!
