Shhhhnkkkkt shhhhhhhnnnnkt shhhhhnktttt

BLU sat in the corner of the room, back to the wall, in a position where he could clearly see the door and the window, just in case. Pyro had come and gone and he had made himself scarce, wanting no part in her little dress up scheme. But now that Pyro had left BLU was back, just sitting and watching.

A piece of wood about four feet long was cradled between his knees, wood shavings curled around his feet with every stroke of the knife he held. Right now it looked like a half circle with two flat ends, but each pass was making it look more and more bowlike. His kukri dangled off his belt, within easy reach should RED decide to do anything stupid. Which given his track record wasn't out of the question.

Silently smirking, BLU watched him struggle to get the offending article of clothing off. "I think it's roight fittin' fer ya. 'Specially since th' dog still has yer hat."

RED straightened with a hiss at the sudden noise, his eyes darting to the corner at the sound of a voice; he squinted, trying to make out the shape he saw there, his vision still blurred from the copious amounts of sleep and medication. He didn't need to see straight to recognize the voice- he knew all too well to whom it belonged.

His look of disdain was impeded: as he sneered in reaction, he bit back pain that shot through him from his nose, bringing his hand to his face again. It stayed there as she shot BLU an icy look. "Rack off. I'm not interested in your opinion."

"Course you ain't. Loike t' see you do somethin' about it though."

He didn't miss a single stroke with his knife, the smell of fresh oak filling the air.

"Least it's red roight? She coulda put you in somethin' blue."

A disgruntled snort pushed its way through his throat, his eyes still locked on his rival. He was being taunted, and the worst part was that in his condition, there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.

That didn't stop him from snapping back. "I said knock it off!" Pain blurred his vision again as his expression twisted- he squinted his eyes shut, which only served to make it worse.

"Hn."

BLU had no intention of stopping. While he was marginally concerned about RED's welfare, he was more concerned that the man stopped being an idiot and actually learned to stop taking shots at people. And especially people that would break every limb he had and most of his fingers.

While the RED claimed that he hadn't provoked his assailant, from what BLU knew about him he figured he was lying. He'd shot at him when he was unarmed anyway. And taken his things. And attacked him in the woods. The list of grievances against the RED marksman was piling up.

"Best lie back before you hurt yerself, mate."

"Right. I suppose things could always be worse, couldn't they?" Though he said it with biting sarcasm, there was more truth in that question than he wanted to admit. He remembered very little after BLU had helped him to his feet and they started walking from the alley because they had been worse. He was lucky he was conscious enough to walk and hadn't bled to death.

Though given the lack of memories of the night, he reasoned he couldn't have been conscious for long. He was quiet for a moment, trying to swallow his pride. His eyes turned themselves to the window stubbornly as he took on an impassive expression in spite of his temper. "What happened?"

"You made it out 'f th' alley and into th' street before I had t' drag you th' rest of the way t' one of th' houses nearby. Th' dog caller fer help, I set yer fingers back in place an' then Pyro helped carry you here." That was already more than he wanted to admit. Helping his rival tore at him.

"You lost a couple pints 'f blood on someones couch." He made a few more passes with his knife then glanced up at RED. "You still look loike all hell." Though that hoodie was helping a bit.

As much as he'd wanted to, Chibi hadn't been able to stay in the hospital. There were things to do around the city. He was keeping RED's hat safe though and came by several times a day, so it wasn't long before he looked in and barked once. Were the two of them at it already?

Having been helped by his rival- correction, saved by his rival, because he had a feeling the pup couldn't have dragged him to the hospital before he'd bled out- was a wound deeper than any he could have received. His weapons being taken was mortifying, but to owe his life to a man he wanted dead, one he'd tried to kill only days before? And that his teammate he'd been hoping to avoid for multiple reasons had helped? That was the worst.

It took everything in him not to cut back; his anger was curbed by a familiar bark from the doorway. His expression softened visibly at the sight of the dog, who admittedly did look good in his hat. Good dog. "Ringo. Come to see me, did you?"

"I loike yer matchin' ears." Nope. He was not going to let that go. Ever. He almost wished he had a camera. He just chuckled to himself and went back to working on his bow.

Something about making the weapon he was going to use to pin RED's head to the wall, while in the presence of RED was oh so delicious.

Carefully hopping onto the edge of the bed, Chibi wagged his tail. Of course he'd come to visit. Both the Snipers actually, but RED was in worse shape so he got the first greeting.

And if he thought Chibi looked good in his hat, he should have seen the neat one the wolf got for Easter.

The scent of the wood shavings made the room seem less unnatural, but BLU probably shouldn't tell Chibi what he's making...or rather why.

RED shot BLU another cold look for his comment; it dissipated as the wolf pup hopped onto the bed. Though he tried to appear unmoved by his friend's appearance, it was hard to keep the corners of his mouth from curling into the smallest of smiles. He patted the bed beside his leg lightly, hoping Chibi would come close enough that he could be petted.

"Good dog." His voice was low as he momentarily blocked out the fact his rival was still there, carving away on the weapon in his lap. It was an annoyance to know he'd be dodging arrows from it later. He returned his attention to BLU. "Right. I've got someone to keep me company, so you can be on your way now."

"Where's th' fun in that? But I'll be quiet so you two can have some toime together." If he was in RED's position he would have been thrilled to see Chibi too. But he wasn't about to let an opportunity for a jab at the other Sniper go.

He stopped carving for a moment, holding the wood at arms length and checking for straightness.

Chibi was happy to take the invitation being carefual not to bump him much as he settled beside RED. A god had to wonder how only two people could generate so much dislike you could almost see it in the air.

But more important was the fact that RED was coherent enough to smile and to bicker with BLU. That had to be a good sign. As for the hoodie...it looked warm so he had no opinions about it.

RED snorted in irritation, his wounded face letting him know with a pang that it did not appreciate his change in expression. Great. His rival was going to sit across the room making a weapon that would probably be used upon him if he ever got out of that blasted hospital room, and there wasn't a single thing to be done about it. If he ever saw a nurse, he was going to have to let her know he wanted no visitors ( ... )

"It wasn't. Till I dragged some piker out 'f an alley and tore it all t' pieces again."

He'd let the RED have his time with the dog, instead lighting up a cigarette and watching out the window. He was already in a hospital, he really should have had a doctor look at his leg, maybe prevent him from having a permanent limp. But he still couldn't bring himself to seek out aid, even when he obviously needed it. After all, he wasn't all that different from his counterpart lying injured in the bed.

"S'not as bad as yers though."
