Trillian

Trillian passed away on Tuesday. That made it 53 weeks with her. I miss her a lot. She was more like a dog or a person than a parakeet. She would nuzzle and peep at you like she was talking. I guess she had been sick for awhile, since she starting throwing up back in February. Stupid doctor didn't think there was much wrong with her. He gave us ( Read more... )

): sorry to hear about Trillian, it's tough loosing a pet, they become closer to us than many relatives do. I still miss my kitty. *hugs* a tattoo is a great way to memorialize, i like the idea too.

Aw! That potato looks like Trill! Now I'll have to watch Pod People. Darn. Can't wait for Vol 12. Hopefully Amazon's quick.

Sorry to hear about your parakeet. It's tough sometimes trying to find a vet that specializes in birds. My lovebirds had some sort of medical issues and eventually passed away. I want to get another bird, but I'm going to wait a few years and get one from a bird rescue. I want a Conure or other smaller parrot that has been hand and bird raised (so it is good with people and still knows it's a bird). As nice of an idea it was on my mom's part, I won't ever get a pet from a pet store.

Again, sorry for your loss. Good luck on the collage. *hugs*

Thanks. Andy and I were watching this special on PBS about this guy in California who was moving and had to give his parrots to a shelter. The lady's house he brought them to was full of birds. It was a cute, and sad, story. Shelters are good, but I don't think they make them for parakeets.

Some do take in parakeets, taking in whatever birds are in need. Ask around. Some only take in larger birds, but it never hurts to ask. If a place does not, they may know of a place or person that does! Some animal shelters even take in turtles, hamsters and guinea pigs if they are from a rescue situation, so you never know. Good luck!

Girl...

I am so sorry about your loss. I have something to cheer you up that I've been promising to send for so long. I finally cleaned out my closet and found your "Barry" gift. I need an address that you want me to send it to.

I think we're gonna go for the tattoo idea; that way she'll always be with us.
