We're doing ok for now.  Just very busy.

I learned yesterday that a different relative (out of state) has been identified for Ap...  It looks promising, but interstates always take so darn long, so she will probably be here for a while.  I don't mind, she is such an easy going little girl, but she needs and deserves a permanent home and I hate to ( Read more... )

does this woman know nothing about ketoacidosis? low blood sugar? any other diabetic problems? the kid NEEDS the insulin in order to process the food. if she gets the food and not the insulin she is in danger. this woman is totally incompetent and you did a great job of trying to stay calm and tell her what the problem is and she refused to listen. you did the right thing. your job as foster parent is to take care of the child right? to protect him or her while in your care? well thats what you did.

Thanks - what bothers me the most is that they had problems with this nurse before. But I am proud of myself - I think I handled it well and advocated for what is best for this child.
