I really must do some work- anniversary or no anniversary, but greater love has no man- really! Than to trawl round Scarborough in serach of silk thingies for his wife. Feeling very cultured, we saw the new version of Dracula by the Northern Ballet Company last night. Beautiful. Although as the opening involved a very naked Dracula arising from his coffin I wasn’t sure what to expect. The production borrowed heavily from the eponymous film by Ford Coppola- even in the casting- From now on, Lucy must be a red head ( Read more... )

I've been reading a book about rediscovering the scandal of the cross. I'm not sure what I think yet. The best book I've read on this is Roy Hession's Calvary Road. This guy has a thing about modern Christians just making the cross about "penal substitution" and taking it out of the rich context of the levitical sacrifices and the cultural ideas of ( Read more... )
