so i just got back from my auntie shelia's funeral/viewing. it wasn't an actual funeral or viewing, she was cremated, her wishes, so it was just a get together to pay our respects. i'm usually very good at coping with death, and the various things that life throws at me, but this is so unexpected. as each day passes the reality of her death begins ( Read more... )

I know exactly how you feel. Life is never guarenteed. My uncle died from a heart attack when he was only 36. THIRTY SIX. He wasn't even old enough to have heart problems. Just recently one of my dads other brothers (who was only fourty eight) died from a heart attack. It makes me love my dad that much more. My dad is fourty six and I wonder if one day he is just going to have a heart attack and I'll never see him again. I couldn't imagine loosing my aunt, who I am extremely close with & she is also my god mother. I hope things get better for you, liz.

I'm sorry that you lost someone who was so close to you. It's so typical of people to not realize how much someone means to us until they're gone. We're all guilty of it. But, I'm sure that she knows how much she meant to you.
