I saw DaVinci Code last night, and I am joyous to say that I liked it much better than X-Men 3. It stayed very true to the book. I think there were only minor departures from the book, and those were instances w/ purpose. For example, there was a scene where Sophie rubs Langdon's temples because he's having a claustrophobia attack. That action ( Read more... )

Well, it just seems like we're the movie-goers this weekend, doesn't it?
I also went to see DaVinci Code this weekend, and X-Men 3.

Both quite interesting, though I will say that I enjoyed the DaVinci Code much more... Much like you!

And your last comment, I completely agree. We were quite lucky to have a relatively low number of people in the audience for our showing, so we were able to sit around afterwards and talk about it. It was quite nice, and it really is an interesting story. I enjoyed this movie very much, even though I haven't read the book. Yet. I'm sure I'll have my hands on it very very soon. :)

Much love to you, darling Lydia!

Did you talk about it w/ the other movie-goers? That would be awesome. ^_^

I love you too, kitty caticus!

Well, I guess you could say that I talked about it with one other movie-goer!
We sat outside on the hood of a car talking about it for a bit, which was quite nice, as it wasn't as hot as it had been all day.

Still, it was a nice intellectual chat!

Good times!

You know, I was reflecting a bit...and I was thinking about the roses you gave me and all the nice things you said...but I think that you and everyone in drama for that matter gave me just as much as you say I gave you. In fact, I don't think I could've been capable of giving all that I did if it wasn't for the love I felt from all of you. You made me feel loved and accepted for who I was, which made me feel the freedom to "bloom." I hope that everyone in drama feels the same way. I ♥ you so much!!!

See Amelie See Amelie See Amelie See Amelie!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE this movie, it's so amazing. Have you heard of it? It's a French film starring Audrey Tatou. Ugh, so gorgeous. I had a VHS of it, and I went to get it out of it's case the other day, only to discover it had been replaced by "Aladdin and the Prince of Theives." Boo!

Also, I was confused a bit about the car accident scene. She wasn't in the car when they died, I thought?

In any case, I loved it, too. I was disappointed they left out the cryptex-within-a-cryptex deal, but I guess SOME people like movies to be under 3 hours long. Pfft. I didn't like, also, that her grandmother didn't have that conversation with Robert like, "No, I don't know where it is.. *wink... wink...*" at the end. Oh well. I liked it anyway.

Ms. Kasten (soon to be Felber!) said that I needed to see Amelie. As soon as I have money, I'll rent it!

Yeah, I don't think she was in the car when they died. But I think that was constructed that way, again, to transist from her rubbing his head to her mother rubbing her head to us finding out how her parents died.

Yeah, she didn't get very romantic w/ Robert at the end, did she? I bet they're going to make an Angels & Demons movie, and then he really will get together w/ Vittoria Vetra.

I haven't read angels and demons, either. :( Same thing, though, as soon as I get money I want to get it.

Have you ever heard of 1001 Arabian Nights? There's a story about a sultan whose wife betrayed him, so he beheaded her. The law of the land, however, decreed that he had to find a new bride by the next full moon. The sultan no longer trusted women, and had started to go mad, so he decided he would marry a different woman every night and have her beheaded in the morning. The sultan's vizeer (advisor) had 2 daughters. His oldest daughter was named Scheherazade. She pleaded w/ him to let her marry the sultan, and of course he didn't want her to because the sultan was a psycho. In the end, though, he gave in. Scheherazade woudld tell him half a story one night and then he wouldn't want to kill her in the morning because he'd want to hear the rest of the story. So she'd finish it the next night and start another one. This continued for 1001 nights. In the end, the sultan was restored to health from his psychotic state because he'd fallen in love w/ his sultana, and so she saved not only her own life, but the rest of the kingdom' ( ... )
