Colossal Youth
Last night was Pedro Costa's "En Avant Jeunesse" or "Colossal Youth" as our friends from across the channel may prefer to call it.
At the end I thought I should see the film again if I can. Perhaps because I dozed during the first 15 minutes.

Loitering about and stumbling into a cinema
I actually wanted to go to see Marcel L'Herbier's L'Inhumaine as a part of Musée d'Orsay's exhibition on the 1920s, or les années folles as they call them here. But in the end it got too late and I decided that would be best to go to Pedro Costa's "En Avant Jeunesse" at 5.15 p.m. But for some reason I thought that it was 5.45 p.m. and so I go there ( Read more... ) -
incomprehensible flick and kebab night.
I went to see "En Avant Jeunesse", but when I reached the ticket counter, had an impulse change of decision, and bought a ticket for Straub-Huillet's "Ouvriers, Paysans" (Workers, Pesants). It was essentially (of what I gather) texts from an Italian utopist novelists being read by actors facing the camera in a forest. I dozed off for the first 5-10 ( Read more... ) -
Nothing much.
I'm going to try a new approach. Instead of thinking "another day where I did nothing", I shall dwelve into the most minute and banal of facts do bring out that it has it's been a day which, boring, be it as it may, has not been uneventful. There shall be at least that.

Just saw "Into the Wild", which was fantastic. I intend to talk more about that in a later post (but like my Ukraine or India trips probably wont). I could relate to the protagonist due the conjuncture I find myself in, and perhaps have always found myself in ( Read more... ) -

The week has been short and uneventful, apart from the fact that work as been slightly less annoying. I managed to see 3 films.
