Things are changing alright....
Now I am generally not a political person. In fact, I usually try to stay out of politics as much as possible, but this is an outrage.

Attempt #2
After looking at the my last corset. I did some minor work to the pattern. (I took 2 inches off the top, 5 inches off at the waist and after examining pictures of the Pfal Dorothea corset and Effigy corset, eliminated the front hip tabs). I also made and put in a wooden busk in this version. Here is the end result... It looks much better.

I feel stupid now...
I was at work today, framing a roof in and getting it ready to raise. I was nailing a board on, and swung my hammer back to drive a nail in. When I started swinging it forward, toward the nail, the head of the hammer hit the board behind me, glancing off of it. I went in to one of the goodwill stores today, and they have an industrial sewing machine (that sells used on craigslist for between $400 and $800). They wanted $79 for it. They also had an industrial serger (used on craigslist for $800 to over $1000) they wanted $99 for it ( Read more... ) -
the blackberry mead...
I just opened a bottle of the mead that I started last summer. It's tangy, even for a dry mead. It's not bitter, just tangy. Still just a little green, but not undrinkable. The flavor is a little lighter than I would have liked, but alot of the sugars got lost in the process of juicing the berries. This year, I'll just mash them and use them whole ( Read more... ) -

We had a family meeting yesterday to go over the status of my prandparents estate. After 4 years, it will FINALLY move from estate to trust. The whole process has been moving forward at about a snail pace, and we sitll have a couple of industrial properties that we are going to sell, but we are mainly concerning ourselves with the commercial/ ( Read more... ) -
oxymoron of the year....
Just for S&G, I just did an interest search for misanthropy. There were about 100 or so LJ groups that popped up. Now popping up 100 or so groups doesn't sound like all that much, except for the fact that we are talking about misanthropy here. By definition, there shouldn't BE any groups.
