Just had the experience, twice in quick succession, of having dudes decide to wait and hold a door for me when I was still awkwardly far away. holy fuck, but I am overly emotional today. A random vignette in an otherwise fairly dry nonfiction book I'm reading (Goleman's "Social Intelligence") almost made me cry when I was having my pre-work coffee, and a text I got from Rocket Ship about how Timberlake dedicated his encore to Trayvon Martin last night just got me all choked up, too.

Weird head-space
I sometimes find myself in this weird mood where I'm unexpectedly productive, and I actually feel the urge to be productive all the time. And I manage to be more creative then usual when this happens, which is nice. But it doesn't necessarily always feel like I'm actually in a mentally healthy place ( Read more... ) -

The world seems hell-bent on preventing me from doing things lately. The whole debacle I had with the HR lady for the library position I was interviewing about got to the point where, by the time she managed to schedule and actually uphold a phone interview time with me, the head HR person was already doing in-person interviews, so I never even had ( Read more... ) -

interview updates
I haven't actually had the interview yet. It was supposed to be 10AM On Wednesday, but the person never called. I called her at about 20 past and left the polite version of a WTF message. She called back immediately and was super apologetic and rescheduled to 3PM.
