Hmm. This is true, as I usually opt for the caffeine overdose. With that the initial excitement factor is minimal, but nothing is more entertaining than when the people in said car get over the caffeine effects (i.e. "buzz"), become incredibly irritable, and bicker endlessly for the remainder of the trip.

Okay, okay: super-sweet fascism aside - to correctly answer I will need to know: relation to said persons (friends? acquintances? kidnapees?), how long is the trip, and what is their vested interest in said trip?

Take several interesting books and the two people who aren't driving can take turns reading aloud.

A less imaginative approach is to sing that stupid song all the way there. "This is the front of the car, where is the back of the car? This is the back of the car, where is the front of car..."

Purchase one or two recent pop hit karaoke CDs and take turns making up your own lyrics to horrible pop music.

I propose a "most annoying song contest." Who ever gets the driver to yell "don't make me pull over!" "Don't make me turn this car around. . ." first wins. Make sure you all wear seatbelts in the off chance that the driver hits a tree.
