THE CHURCHinabapoliceFebruary 20 2011, 04:26:11 UTC
In all of his years on the force, Dojima couldn't have predicted any of this; the kidnapping, the alternate dimension - it all seemed coaxed from a terrible television program. Yet here he was, avoiding certain death from angry creatures that lurked in the fog while trying piece together what the hell happened

I hope it's okay to poke here? :B If you have something plotted already I can retract this tag :'DantiakumaFebruary 21 2011, 21:49:32 UTC
After having entered the church with Lavi and Kanda, Allen moved quietly through the interior of the building, occasionally pausing to look at others who had found their way inside and at the communication device attached to his wrist. He took a moment or two to tug at the thing trying to find a means of detaching it, but soon found it was a more difficult task than he had originally imagined. How was it staying so firmly in place anyway with no release?
It was during one of these moments where he was toying with the cuff on his wrist that he heard the dull thunk against the door, his attention drawn just as he heard the voice on the other side. After a quick glance around to see if anyone else were going to approach, he headed toward the entrance to reply.
"Yes, there are some of us in here, Detective," Allen replied in an even, clear voice as he shifted a hand to pull the door open, offering as a good a smile as he could manage under the circumstances "Please, come in. Relatively speaking, the air isn't so dry in here."

Dojima offered a smile back, but he can't help but force it. His whole world had been turned upside-down in a matter of days. "Glad to see some people made it," Ryotaro holstered his police-issue revolver as he spoke, "-sorry that this is a little unorganized. I know the head of the Task Force is taking on a solo mission, so I was asked to come here to offer some assistance

It reminded him of something, the way the bells tolled like they were meant for something, someone, maybe even himself and everyone else caught up in all of this. A sinister reminder of what could be and how things would inevitably unfold because you let your guard down and took the easy way out. It was never the kind of message you want looming above your head, but it was there to be heard, whether you wanted to or not.
When Dino diverted his gaze upwards to the seething red sky that met his eyes, he knew right there and then that he couldn't waste any more time. He had seen the messages on the network (a call for help, for people to take the initiative, and a troublemaker finding himself in a bit of trouble-), and as much as it was uncharacteristic of him to let some of it go by without another word from him, the last one needed most of his attention.
It went without saying - his friends, allies, always came first, they were put above the rest, so he immediately threw himself outside in the middle of this smothering atmosphere

Said troublemaker was hardly in as much trouble as it looked (it was only one child, after all), and Mukuro's always had a knack for worming his way out of the most dire of situations. Call it a knack. Which is why, shortly after his meeting with Detective Adachi Tohru for a splint and some thoroughly unhelpful assistance, he finds himself walking through the oppressive heat and silent streets of Nuadoria with no more than a few bumps & bruises and time wasted.
The thing about someone like Dino, is that he's predictable-- a good doer, if you will, altruistic to a fault. Combine that with his relentless insistence upon their "alliance" and being "allies", well- Mukuro's all but expecting him. Listening for him, as he makes his way briskly out of the red zone, towards the fountain in the distance, where he feels the pressure on his lungs cease and desist. Marginally, but enough to make a difference.
And there, as if right on cue, a blonde flurry makes its way into his line of sight, thank you, wasn't that easy? graceful as always.

Dino isn't the only one who isn't too happy about having his world tipped over. When the troublemaker approaches, the little dog gets on its feet, guard raised and already yapping. It even has enough confidence to start gnawing on the edge of Mukuro's pants, going as far to getting itself ready to mark its territory if he doesn't move away

Ace made his way through the fog, a puff of feathers perched somewhat precariously on the crown of his hat despite being surrounded by a wall of raging flame emanating from his shoulders and down his arms.
This resembled the hellscape he envisioned being confronted with when he'd first arrived; the gale that had risen out of nowhere unnatural, unforgiving - but at the same time it offered a strange sense of comfort, and Ace had just a little trouble pinpointing exactly why. Perhaps it was the sensation of being perfectly within his own element, the flames he shifted into, just in case, burning more brilliantly in the stifling atmosphere.
While he initially intended to remain outside and look around, the entity still sitting on his head quickly grew more and more agitated, and the pirate supposed it wouldn't be too bad an idea to give the little thing a break, ducking into the nearest building that loomed out of the fog.
The first thing that greeted Ace upon entry was a little bobbing ball of light. Hovering at knee-height above the ground, the ball of light glowed a soft blue, bouncing in the air as if waiting for something before circling in place, leaving a little trail of faint light in its wake.
Moments afterward, a figure came padding out from the rows of shelves to follow it. "Ah, wait -- " Shun had come to the archives in search of some information on this strange world, figuring that these books would give him some sense of what to do -- and he'd just opened up a random volume when his gestalt, that glowing ball of light, had gone hovering off.
He looked up from the ball of light, though, upon realizing that someone else had entered the building. "Oh. Hello." A curious glance at the way the other was dressed (wasn't it a bit cold?) before he gave small nod in greeting. "Sorry if that startled you, I'm not really sure how to -- ah. Deal with this thing." A small nod at the happily-bobbing ball of light.

Ace wasn't exactly expecting anyone to be in here, and the sudden appearance of someone else in this place put him off, just a little. He'd instinctively summoned the beginnings of a small fireball in his closed palm, just in case, but the newcomer (and the glowing ... whatever it was) didn't seem like much of a threat.
"Nah, s'fine." Tucking his hands into his pockets, Ace gave the area a quick, sweeping glance before directing his attention back toward the other person in the room. The way he spoke of the glowing object reminded Ace of the others' reactions to their gestalts, and the pirate supposed that this was another unfortunate individual who was spirited here.
Elena was absolutely sweltering inside her suit, but she was outside anyway, a tiny fennec fox at her heels. She'd heard the noise, but hadn't been able to make out a damn thing from any of the windows of the residential block.
Wiping the sweat from her face, she stood up on her toes and scanned the area. She only wanted to see if anything was coming. If anything did show up, Elena planned to get the hell back inside. As much as she loved a good fight, she was alone and without Materia, and she'd learned at least some of her limits in the past couple of years.

Despite the minor plane-shift setback, Wesker was actually quite interested in everything that was folding out before him. Not a fan of the hot weather of course, but everything was made up for by the sheer amount of activity that was bustling about in the ash

She blinked at the man. Tall and quietly imposing, his eyes hidden behind shades, he reminded her an awful lot of Rude. The thought gave her a pang. She couldn't believe how much she missed her colleagues all ready...
"I'm fine," she replied, craning her neck up to look at him. Elena wasn't the shortest person around, but she was still pretty compact.
"I thought I might have spotting something, but..." She eyed the mess on his clothes. "...I'm guessing things might have been taken care of."
