I used to use a standard step-on trash can with a heavy pop-up lid. Ray learned that he could tug on the little bit of bag that always hung over the edge, and it would make the contents of the trash can raise up, and also lift the lid slightly ajar. The cats are familiar enough with each other that they'll walk over each other.

More than once, Deuce or Ray has been in the other's way, so the other simply stepped over/stepped on/jumped over the other.

Apparently, if I do something that pisses off Ray (such as picking him up and holding him because he's eating Deuce's wet food), he likes to get back at me by peeing in my gym bag.

That's twice now.

Tuesday evening, I was building a carpet-and-wood thing for the cats, as I am wont to do.

Now, I normally try to be very careful with tools - power tools, hand tools, implements of destruction - but on this particular day, I managed to accidentally take a staple right in the center of my left palm.

Ow.
