I know how I originally wanted this to end, but the story wants to take the super-scenic route, which is throwing the pacing off by a good bit. So I made oxtail stew. With two cups of red wine and substituting dried plums for the raisins.
Had a glass of the remaining wine. Am vaguely squiffy. For reference: The Wolftrap 2006 red wine. Not bad - almost used the Three Legged wine I had but that one was really great so I wanted to save it.
