I know! Apparently there used to be a Penis festival, too, but the Sinnam/Samcheok area has changed a lot in recent generations and it's mainly Christians, so they opposed it and it was shut down. I am not sure if they opposed it because it was penises, specifically, or if their main gripe was the shamanism.

wow! What and awesome park! I wish we had stuff like that in America. Sadly though, instead of finding it cutesy, someone would likely take offense to it.

Oh I know! I was just telling another commenter that there used to be a festival once a year to celebrate the legend and do the rites, but apparently in recent times, the area has become heavily Christian and there was opposition to having it and eventually it was stopped. I don't know if it was penises that upset them, specifically, or if it was the shamanism.
