Well, I guess that depend on your tastes...but I think it's "pretties"

So for Christmas I drew my Sister for our annual family "Secret Santa" drawing.  Since I was poor I decided to make her something, and since I've been practicing my smocking, I decided to go that route and chose to try  counterchange smocking.  My sister loves skulls, so I tried ( Read more... )

It's called counterchange smocking. Basically you start with Gingham (or you can use stripes for a little different effect) and you take stitches at specific places to create the picture. The stitches basically fold the fabric in certain places and holds it in place. It's easy, but time consuming. This piece took me about 20 hours to complete..but it was pretty big, in the neighborhood of about 8" x 10"
