There's a new website and listserv for children (teens, probably) and adults who have Romani heritage and were adopted by non-Roma.

I'm not a bad person if I wait to meet my birth parents even if they want to meet me since I don't feel ready? I just want validation.

 So, I turned 18 about 5 months ago. I finally called the adoption agency to get the information to start the journey to meet my birth mother. That's when I found out, my birthmother has stopped responding and accepting the letters my parents and I have written to her since 2001. Just passing this on for those of you in NC about the new law about connecting adoptees and birthparents through confidential intermediaries that goes into effect January 1, 2008. It is being set up to be run through adoption agencies and I just wanted to pass on info on a very trustworthy agency that is already taking information for people so ( Read more... )
