Someone stole my bike! I left it locked outside for an hour, and when I went back to retrieve it it was gone! If anyone in Montreal sees someone around on a blue cruiser with reflective hearts all over it, please PUNCH THAT PERSON IN THE THROAT! This sucks. Someone please take me bike shopping in the morning, because even though it was in rough

Yes, wow, I can't believe this sign exists. Way to perpetuate awful stereotypes. It makes me wish I hadn't caved and bought into the whole contacts over glasses thing back when I was a wee insecure 13 year old. Sigh.
But, I'm glad the stencil worked out! I'll be excited to see the final product!
Oh! I found out about a couple used bookstores around McGill. I haven't spent much time in that neighbourhood...if you're up for it maybe we could go exploring this week! :)

I was wearing glasses when I saw the sign, but it did make me feel slightly yucky inside for having caved to contacts. But I think we shouldn't feel too guilty, because there are tons of valid reasons to choose contacts, such as being able to wear sunglasses, that they don't fog up in cold or steam, and that sometimes glasses just don't match the outfits we wear on dates with boys :/
The finished product itself is kinda working out less well than I had anticipated. It's a little... gloopy? Maybe it will have to be for-show and not for-use.
And I'm definitely up for used bookstore exploring soon! I think I'm going to devote today to bike shopping, but maybe tomorrow or Friday if you're free? Or some time this weekend?

And mmm, so many girls (and perhaps also boys?) dumb themselves down in general, because there's such a pervasive cultural idea that Smartness Is Not Likeable. And I think that's garbage!

i have seen smart boys act dumb around certain girls too. either way.. it's sad that one would waste a whole brain for a piece of ass!

And you're right, it does seem bizarre for a store that sells glasses to perpetuate such an idea about people who wear them. I think I might go in under the guise that I'm looking to buy glasses (because I actually am!) and work the angle of "well, you just lost a customer from your terrible advertising!". I feel like that might be more effectvie.
