Boys don't make passes...

Someone stole my bike! I left it locked outside for an hour, and when I went back to retrieve it it was gone! If anyone in Montreal sees someone around on a blue cruiser with reflective hearts all over it, please PUNCH THAT PERSON IN THE THROAT! This sucks. Someone please take me bike shopping in the morning, because even though it was in rough ( Read more... )

Oh, I'm going to walk in and start something one of these days. It just has to be a day when I have a bike again to make a quick getaway :(

How could I forget the Wilde's podging incident? It did accomplish something- it made us feel like we had agency over the situation. Also it was an exceptional prelude to our casino visit!

Also- hey! Will you be in Ottawa the weekend of the 24-25th?

That's so upsetting! I've always got that bike stealing fear in the back of my mind. Did you have your basket attatched?
Let me know if you haven't found a bike because I'll gladly go with you sometime to shop for one. Good luck.
Oh, and that sign...poop! pure poop! It makes me angry for all those out there who read it and let themselves do anything but growl. won't somebody think of the children?!? heh

No! My basket (and the good, non-chewed up attacher!) were safely inside my house. But my cute little spoke cards and everything else are gone :(

We had no luck bike shopping today (admittedly I only went to three places before I got cranky), so I might have to take you up on your offer another time!

Also, I wanna hear about your climbing weekend away!

My bike was stolen last May when I was in Halifax. I had it chained up on my porch on South Street and when I was gone for about 2 hours at my friend's house, watching a movie, they stole it. Cut the lock. And it was a shitty Canadian Tire bike too. I have no idea why someone would take it. Bike thieves make me angry, because the people I know who ride bikes are mostly a) students .: with little income (e.g. myself) or b) people who use it as a way to get to their job (or both). I feel your pain.

Bike theives really are basically the worst :( Did you ever get it back or replace it?

My bike was really old, really rusted, and in really bad shape, so it seems totally incomprehensible as a target for stealing. I don't get theivery! And yeah, especially being a student with not a ton of disposable income, it makes these things really frustrating.

oh Pam... that is terrible! everything...all of it!!! how frustrating that someone stole a locked bike that was only there for 60 minutes??? and how is it possible that smart girls/girls with specs get condemned? smart girls and girls with specs are sexy. and i'm sticking with that.
i really do hope you get some justice in this world. goodluck with bike shopping/borrowing (especially if it's your means of transportation!).

The bike shopping in Montreal is really not fruitful, unfortunately. There's such a high demand for bikes that it's really difficult to find anything... uh... usable. Anyway, I almost want to recruit someone in Ottawa or Halifax to just go find me a bike and ship it up to me. It's depressing :(

But thank you for the words of encouragement. I hope that you are having a lovely summer, my dear! xoxo

Wow, it would be a big job to shop for a bike and ship it elsewhere. Although perhaps you know of someone in Ottawa who has a car and can drive it to Montreal instead. But i bet you have already thought of many ideas to solve your problem already and this one might not be an option for you. Is there a bike co-op at any of the Mtl universities where you could get a cheap old bike? How frustrating and indeed depressing.
On my end, on the other hand, things are fine. i'm grateful of not having to deal with stressful situations for the time being.
i do hope things turn up for the better on your side! let's try to enjoy our summer break!

i hope the thief gets cock punched instead.

the good side: there is a good song by freezepop called bicycle thief!

i too have always hated the way that smart girls have been advertised to. like, hey glasses make you unapproachable. funny because all of my boys have loved me with or without glasses.

funny because all of my boys have loved me with or without glasses.

Word! Message I wish advertising would have given me as a teen: any boy who doesn't like you because you're too smart isn't the kind of guy who would be fun or interesting to date anyway. Grr!
