[Hardison is shown, focusing very closely on a small project while he puts a few tiny screws into what looks like a modified animal collar. The small box attached to it is only an inch or so wide, and it's about a quarter-inch thick. He is taking care to make sure the exposed wires are connected correctly and he hisses a little and pulls back ( Read more... )

[He will be returning with a sheepish grin.]

It's an awesome collar, he should be grateful his owner cares enough to track his movements!

Fortunately for me it's not about what he needs.

What in the world are you doing with that cat?

He's-- I-- well, I'm trying to test out my tracker on him.

Couldn't you have tested it out on the random roommate?

[This is Tony examining Hardison's video. He's rewound it, replayed it and is tilting his head at the whole thing. His brain is clicking along, making sense of the engineering of Hardison's design]

Tracking or mind control?

Also I think you'd do better to get a declawed cat. Perhaps toothless.

Mind control? I wish. You're on the money the first time, though. RFID, and I've got receptors tagged out around my building.

[Hardison is scowling at you, Tony.] That just ain't right, man. Trying to make Max defenseless? Something wrong with you...

If you tapped into the right receptors it's a possibility.

Perhaps that's why Miss Potts wouldn't let me have a pet.

[Tony pushes some buttons on his tablet that don't really appear to have any effect. He could be taking notes for all anyone knows. He's actually pulling up some contracts, City Solutions clearances and security codes. Just in case]

Turns out I've got a company here. It looks like you could use something to do besides track your cat. Want a job?

No offense, but I'll pass. That's a little too dystopian sci-fi for me, man.

[Hardison outwardly ponders the offer. He tries to play cool but there's no way he's entirely hiding his excitement.]

I guess that depends on what I'd be doing. I'm kinda working with this group right now, but it's more freelance work than anything.
