I'm in a curiosity mode.

My friend mousme has written a post about her mom's non-acknowledgement of her girlfriend BorderCrossing as being her girlfriendI would be curious to hear my non-heterosexual friends talk about their own experiences. Has this happened to them or not? Or differently ( Read more... )

It's hard for me to tell for my parents since I never had a boyfriend (well, 3 weeks barely count)... and my dad has a tendency not to acknowledge much at all. My mom's usually been pretty good about it. And as far as I can remember none of my friends had a problem (especially not the ones who knew us both!) and usually I think I'm assertive enough at first that people who would rather not acknowledge that side of me just don't get to know me.

That said, I have a tendency to forget about small instances of that kind (which is why I keep an LJ, ha!). I really need to have better memories about this sort of stuff. *facepalm*
