And can someone tell me what the dress is to the far left with the stripey skirt? That seems strange to see something that looks so 1780's-1790's to me next to the dresses on the right, which I expect to see in the 1840's.

Oh, and I love it, of course. Stripes!

Okay. This is going to be a long, ranty costuming post about how much I hate fashion from the 1820's through the 1870's, so I'm putting it behind a cut. But I do still need some help. . .

Here's the project I did last week. The corset is silk dupioni fused to heavy-weight duck with a lining of duck. The skirt is satin, and the shrug is stretch cotton sateen twill.

The photo doesn't even show how gorgeously the corset fits.
