Draco apparated in front of Pansy’s home for their bi-weekly dinner. He would have apparated straight into the living room if it weren’t for the Anti-apparition wards. Not that he minded it much, it’s was better to be safe than sorry. A paranoid Slytherin was an alive one, was something his father used to say.

He walked towards the door; he felt the wards tingle against his skin trying the decipher if he was friend or foe. As soon as the wards recognised his magical signature, the tangles of magic retreated, and he was save to open the door. He unlocked the door with a wave of his wand, and went inside.

“Hello, Panse!” he yelled as he made his way towards the living room. He could hear a faint reply coming from the kitchen. He couldn’t quite hear what she had said, but guessed that it was a greeting of sorts.

Pansy’s living room was tastily decorated as always. Her home always looked like it had come straight out of a magazine. And the Christmas decorations were no different. Every year she bought everything new and in the latest trends. He took of his coat, threw it on the black leather sofa, and stood in front of the crackling fire. As he warmed his hands, he inspected the Christmas tree. Apparently this year’s colours were bronze, brown and cream.

“Hello, darling,” Pansy said as she walked towards him. She pressed a light kiss against his cheek, and a glass of wine into his hand. As he turned towards her to give her the same greeting, she froze and looked at him thoughtfully.

“You’ve seen Potter today, haven’t you?” she said.

“No, I haven’t,” he denied. Pansy didn’t need to know that he had lied, when he actually did see him.

“Don’t lie to me, Draco. I know that face! It’s your Potter face,” she said cackling as she gestured with a finger towards his face, “I’ve seen it often enough when we were still at Hogwarts and you were busy mooning over him.”

“I do not! Besides Malfoys do not moon. ”

“You did too. Keep telling yourself that. We both know that you are lying.” She took a small sip of her wine, and grinned at him. Draco smiled at her, as infuriating as she was sometimes, he was glad she was his best friend.
