Even though something bad happens near the end? Or does it? How much is it like the book?
I made the terrible mistake of dragging Jim to see Pan's Labyrinth, not realizing he didn't know it was set against the Spanish revolution. He thought we were going to some light fantasy movie. PL was both more violent and graphic than I expected but still a great movie and the effects are worth it. Jim describes the movie as "Dark Crystal mixed with Pulp Fiction" If I take him to B2T and it turns out to be unhappy, he'll be gunshy about letting me choose movies for a while.
I find this all very amusing, because I'm the one who won't watch "Pulp Fiction" or "Reservoir Dogs" (Although to be fair, I do watch some pretty harsh movies, I like "Bourne Identity" and "Brotherhood of the Wolf" the violence has to make sense and not be too eggregious, or crass.)
It's nice. I suspect I'll be saying the same thing soon. :) Sorry we missed you at Candlemas. Maybe we can set up a night at a certain event to have dinner.
Yeah, I knew the end going into it, but I think they did a good job with it. I look forward to seeing both kids in more movies. I'm also hoping I can foster that creativity in Gavin.
There's something about Bridge to Terabithia - when my Gavin's best friend took it in school, she immediately came to our woods and created a Terabithia of her own - and the Mouse has drawn plans for hers already.

And yeah, the end of BtT is a bit... unhappy doesn't quite describe it, because there's hope, but there is still some sadness. Still, a good movie.
