I received word last night that Gimpy is no longer here. The cancer had spread to his lungs and other nearby organs. The chemotherapy was not working and his digestive system had shut down. He was no longer taking in nutrients. We all miss him.

Cat update
Thanks for all the thoughts and well wishes. So far Gimpy is doing ok. He came through the first night after surgery with few problems and was even strong enough to receive a visit from my parents for a few minutes. He was quite happy to have them visit as he was purring up a storm in spite of a bundle of tubes attached. The internal sutures ( Read more... ) -

My parents' older (not very old at about three years) cat, Gimpy (who has been the subject of quite a few photographs) just had surgery to remove a large tumor from his stomach. Most of his stomach had to be removed and he's currently being prepped for a blood transfusion due to the extreme loss of blood. According to the vet, it will take 48 to ( Read more... ) -
