Those commissions are really looking good. Has your painting style changed a lot, or are you just tweaking it as you go? Lots of nice subtlety on that last one. And yeah, pinkness for Russians and their ilk. I've always wondered about that.
Uniforms, yesyesyes. You'll have to tell me more about this, you know how much I love costume design. I like the idea of the purple one as a dress uniform, makes sense.
I can't remember if you said that Luca's voracious metabolism is because of the Dagre screwing around with him? Or if it's just a genetic thing. And hey, mole on face. I knew he was gonna have that mole on his back, but face also I see.
I think I'm just messing with it as I go, its a lot easier that way... I have undersketches that I'm painting over but as I go I'm figuring out which parts to keep paint and which parts to retain the lines for... most people who paint well only darken the nostrils and the line of the mouth but I'm still stuck on my cartooniness to a large degree

Gah, I've still been avoiding AIM, trying to reduce hand strain. It sucks because I really miss talking to you people! (My compromise is doing too much LJ, which is probably almost as bad.) But hopefully I can allow myself back online before too long. (I know, phone is not so great.)
Hehe. I don't think they're lame. I like to look at them. They all look good, particularly Munchy!Luca, but I particularly like this one for the off-the-wall expression. ^_^
Hehe. That last Luca summer uniform sketch sort of makes it look like he's wearing suspenders. Which probably means the pants are too loose, thanks of his elevated (thanls t othe Hands of Doom) metabolism.
First off, I must mention that my brain has been dead asleep for almost a week now. Looks like the jetlags from travelling have hit me harder. Love the Luca doodle costume research\development. Very nice monochrome Luca pic- the mole\bump actually looked like a small hole to me, perhaps because it lacks an itsy tiny highlight to give it volume. Gah, sleepy and nitpicky. I should sleep instead of annoying people...sorry 'bout that.

I am so fascinated with the way you color skin tones. It's so interesting to see how that kind of detailed, realistic shading works so ridiculously well with your more stylized lineart (which also rocks. I love the way you draw face shapes and jaw lines and mouths).
