Friday, June 18, 2004Friday I learned all about Chinese bureaucracy. The trip to Dali from Kunming was supposed to last four hours. It lasted 14! What happened was this. Yesterday we visited the TCM Hospital and I was in heaven. It looked a bit run down and definetely not as clean and high tech as American hospitals (actually it did resemble a Russian clinic except it was much bigger than the place my mom worked). Not much has been going on. Monday I got sick. Nothing major, just a slight fever and stomach aches. The group went to another Buddhist temple, supposedly the most beautiful one in the city and I missed it. So far today has been wonderful. I hve the rest of the afternoon off so I am updating early. This morning we got to meet with 14 second graders who came to visit us at the university.
