Christmas eve went very well! This morning was lovely. Just Peter and I, opening presents, then eggs, bacon, and mamosas for breakfast. Peter loved his new shirts and tool belt I made him. Oh Gosh, Christmas!
The reason you haven't heard head or tails of me is that I've been locked behind my sewing machine and in front of the stove, getting reading for the Christmas season. We have already hosted two parties, one for Peter's work friends and one for the books club. My, these journal entries seem to be getting further and further apart. I thought I would update you on some of my cooking experiments of the past few weeks. I made a beautiful pan-broiled steak last week. I gave it a kick by adding two chopped cloves of garlic in the pan for the last few seconds. It gave it fabulous aromatic flavor ( Read more... ) -

Oh WOW
I went over to visit Carol Roy in her new house last week. Her kitchen is STUNNING! All brand new white appliances, an island counter, a breakfast nook. Simply beautiful. I wish I could convince Peter into letting us renovate the kitchen. I think it would be a great project for him, but he says he's too tired with work to bother with an extra ( Read more... ) -
A quick idea
Doctor, what do you think about taking night time art classes? I just read in the town paper that the secondary school is offering adult painting classes now. You could invite Donna as well and we could make an evening of it! You know I'm always looking for more opportunities to get out of the house. -

I think I'm coming down with something. My throat has been scratchy all day, and I feel so cold. I've been dosing myself with endless cups of peppermint tea. I think it's going to be left-overs for dinner. If Peter has a problem with that, he can make dinner himself.
