Back from the trip of a lifetime... but this isn't about that. It's about fandom.

Well, I'd like to ramble on about my wonderful trip, but dyrim_rings hasn't had a chance to load pictures, and I'd like it illustrated. Suffice it to say... lots of fun, lots of walking, and a lovely time with my sister. More to follow, once the pictures are up.

What I would like to talk about is fandom.

Sometimes it feels like we're fighting over the same boyfriend... )

Sorry I haven't connected with you! *sigh* This time zone thing sucks so much more now that I work in the mornings.

Anyhow, I wanted to tell you about my trip. Maybe we could set up a Friday or Saturday Skype call? I can't wait to catch up. You can steer me to the awesome stories, since I haven't read a single Snarry Holidays or Merry Smutmas. *sigh* However, I finally have the house CLEAN. (The cats and Mr. M went feral while I was gone; toys, pizza boxes, and dirty socks everywhere. I have since whipped them back into shape.)

Welcome home, alicia. I was just thinking of you this past week, wondering when you'd be back.

Appreciated your fandom thoughts, especially given some of the things that've happened this past year. I've been concentrating on my 'first love' things--writing and reading. That's about all I do. Limiting 'crazy' in my life, including fandom stimuli, is a good thing, I'm finding.

Looking forward to those pictures!

I really wish we'd had more time together at Prophecy. Meeting you was definitely one of the highlights, and I was hoping for a really long chat.

I will definitely do Terminus, and am hoping to do Con.txt as well; maybe we can correct that this time.

I'm with you about limiting the crazy; I've been focusing on WTP, and really limiting my time otherwise. It does seem to be making me happier.

Welcome back, alicia. You've been missed.

Very well put---just like any relationship, it's important to change and grow. It takes work to make it good, but it's so worth it.

So it's great that the love is renewed. I've been reading old favorites lately too, now that my exchange fics are done, as well as a few I hadn't had the chance to read before. It's refreshing, and really comforting to read the old favorites. There's a lot to love here, and I refuse to let the madness and wank, or even canon put an end to my little corner of fandom.

Well put! Yours are stories I revisit as well. I love your Xmas one; I'll probably re-read it in the next couple of days. I just loaded it on my Sony Reader for that very purpose. ;)

I also need to read the new stuff: Smutmas & Snarry Hols. I haven't had a minute, getting my house in order for the holidays! That's my weekend fun for next weekend, though.

So good to see you again, m'dear! *huggles*

Eloquent, as always. :) I, too, feel very bad for Steve and I hope whatever resolution comes up actually tips in the Lexicon's favour. Heh.

Looking forward to seeing your holiday photos...

I miss you! I found myself wishing all my fandom friends lived in Europe, for visiting purposes, but especially you. :)

Someday, I'll have to scrape up for tickets to Australia. Maybe for the 20th anniversary, I can get the Mr. there? Obviously, leaving without him means he punishes me by making the house AS MESSY AS POSSIBLE while I'm gone.

Welcome back! I missed you and was wondering when you were going to return. Can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories--also, I finally finished (and can't find a book to engage me dammit!) so we will have to discuss at our next dinner event. Hugs.

Absolutely! It was a LONG trip. I finally have the house in some kind of order, so YAY!

I have to have KT get the pics together, though. We'll have to go somewhere with wireless; maybe Panera next time?
