But he ought to have said, "come down to the station," not "you're under arrest."

Vince and Dave! I was really shocked when I realized they were brothers -- I was obviously in some kind of haze when I first started watching it. And if you don't *know* they're brothers... well.

I love your theory A WHOLE LOT. It makes tons of sense.

Ooh, I do scary, and I have a high tolerance. Hopefully it *is* as good as an XF, BSG or Fringe. That would be killer.

Oblivion: Agreed - it was a great premise that fell right off the tracks mostly because it was a big excuse to show close-ups of Tom Cruise's face
Explosions: Agreed - I often fast-forward through action scenes these days. Even in shows I like.

Someone on Twitter just wrote that Oblivion was good for the first 30 minutes. I also think that's why I may have broken up with SHIELD. Too much action without anything actually happening.

There will be no poking fun from this quarter. I think Prometheus was a pretty great movie. I liked it a whole lot, and I think a lot of the panning of the movie that I've seen online stems more from the ambiguity of the movie, the lack of tying everything up with a neat bow, than anything else. The movie had its flaws, but it also has a lot going for it.

The movie had a lot of flaws, which is unfortunate and makes me think that there are too many fingers in big budget Hollywood pies. But it brought to bear the real terror that good Sci Fi does -- the emptiness of space, the alienness of aliens, the unimaginable vastness of life, etc. etc. word salad, I know, but you know what I mean.

No, I really do. The movie was visually beautiful; it was about the big existential questions; and it was deeply creepy. Excellent sci-fi.

How is there non-fiction science fiction? I don't get it!

Nooo, nooo, I mean that if sci fi isn't meeting your needs...

BTW, sibling relations never stopped shippers. If there is Wincest, why not Vincest?

I think most SF nerds are waiting for Helix with bated breath (we're gonna pretend that the awful Bionic Woman remake never happened). I have to politely disagree with you about Defiance, because I feel that it is the type of dystopian sci-fi that is really out of favour right now. It's Deadwood with aliens, and that can't help but be awesome.

Are you gonna give Almost Human a try? It's starts on Sunday night. I'm in because I have a thing for robots.

I agree that a lot that gets passed off as sci-fi these days is just outlandish action unencumbered by the need for logic. This is proof positive that many people writing SF aren't well-versed in it's beginnings BECAUSE SCI-FI IS RIDICULOUSLY LOGICAL. Science, people…

BTW, I LOVED Prometheus. SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!! *sigh of contentment*

ARE YOU CALLIN ME A NERD?

Bionic Woman remake - ugh. They really screwed themselves by not having Kara Thrace as the star, straight up. And then, you know, failing at the plot big time. #fail

It's totally cool to disagree with me about Defiance! I watched every episode and gave it every chance. I don't find it at all like Deadwood, and while I love the premise, there were certain characters that I just plain didn't care about, and many plots and reactions were telegraphed too far in advance. I do love the "Doc" though - she's kickass.

OH YES ALMOST HUMAN. I love Michael Ealy. Wild horses couldn't keep me away from that show.

*applauds you* Yes and yes.
