He knows he is not as good as she says he is. Only here, in this room, lit by inconsistent candles, where he can hide in the shifting shadows, afraid that she will see him for what he is.
Afraid that she will expose his heart and shatter his pretences.
Because if she is a statue of alabaster and gold, then he is hollow bronze with feet of clay, built on lies and an act he has played for so long that he isn't sure he can drop it.

“The stabiliser usually compensates for that.”
“Banking one's safety on a single protocol is just asking for disaster, though. There ought to be a secondary system.”

He shrugged. “There's no limit as far as I know. I've never really used it. Never had the need.”
Seren turned and leaned her behind on the console. “You do realise all this would be a moot point if you'd just locked the damn door?”
“Not only would the Doctor not have stolen the stabiliser, but I wouldn't have you harping on at me for that failure.”
Her gaze did not waver. “You'd also be dead.”
Because Seren is awesome and the Master has no idea how much trouble he's in. :D

In terms of plot, definitely Due Time (current WIP)

Very much a passion.

Write what you know. Ugh.

Anything from my Spectrum series, just as I could have Alex Kingston and Cliff Simon on my TV together.

Sam/Baal.

Depends on the fic.

Twice - I do a browse for typos and then one for flow.

Yes.

Rarely, but I'm damned good when I do.

Huge, HUGE liberties.

There's never enough.

Done well, it's fabulous.

Mmm, iffy. Certainly not for titillation.

I assume this means one who doesn't die anyway? I have done and probably will again.
