I've just tried to post to a friend's journal, and LJ gave me a
N error that said "Prove that you are a human." And then something like "Captcha is catching". Did somebody hack LJ?!!

Book for girls
Question that I had to put in separate post... Sierra is turning 9 this year, and is still woefully socially inept. She also pings every single "inattentive" bullet point on the ADD scale. I'm trying to find a book for her about growing up, or being a girl, or something she can read that might clue her in to the sorts of things she needs to be ( Read more... ) -
Halloween costumes
What is everybody going to be for Halloween?
I'm trying to come up with something original and awesome, but most like will wear the doctor costume I usually wear (It's a cheesy scrubs costume, and yet people still ask me if I'm a real doctor! Every time. It's a high.)
Kids are going to be: Iron Patriot and Hermione.

Stressed, thanks to the Feds
Here. Dealing with the federal shutdown. Mark's a contractor in a federal building, so he was home all last week. He worked some from home, and then got hit with the cold we all had, so he was on sick leave for part of the week. Crystal Light - kidney damage?
I'm late to the crystal light bandwagon, but I'm on it now. I've been drinking their Energy drink a few times a week since the Spring. Since I don't drink coffee, this is what gets me going. However, somebody just told me that crystal light causes kidney damage. Is this true? Is it like a lifetime of drinking it causes damage? Or what? ( Read more... ) -
School bus
For those of you who have been following the school bus drama on my FB - Daniel rode the bus to school today! The aide was there, and the bus driver did not make a production out of things at all. It was just like a normal day. Thank God! And Daniel was SO EXCITED to get on the bus. Makes the hell of last week worth it.

Beginning of School
We're home from the beach and it was the best vacation ever!! First time that we did not "vacation" by going to see family. When we got up in the morning, we could do whatever we wanted! Amazing. I'll detail it later, but it was just fantastic!

This is how self-centered my husband is.
I made a cake this past weekend for Daniel's birthday. It's a cake my Mom makes often for family gatherings, but I rarely make. Mark keeps talking about how much he LOVES this cake - my version way better than Mom's. So he's been trying to figure out why that is, when we use the same recipe.

Now I can predict the future?
I had a dream two nights ago that my Grandpa (who died two years ago) came back to say goodbye to my Grandma. The next day Grandma had routine bloodwork done. Results are back today - and they are rushing Grandma to the hospital. Apparently her potassium is at a "critical" level, whatever that means.
