the Moth
I just ordered the Moth's "Best Of" 10 CD set for my sister. I think she'll enjoy the short stories on her drives into work and back. In some ways I had wish I'd gotten it for myself, but I'll setting for listening to their podcast feed for now. If you've never heard of the Moth they have a page of stories here. -

I decided to start looking for new glasses. I've owned the ones I have now for about eight or nine years and I think they've had it. They're bent in some weird way which causes too much pressure on the left pad. I'll probably eventually get a callus if I keep wearing them ( Read more... ) -
Sheldon Brown
Sheldon Brown passed away today. I never met the guy but oddly enough Erin and I rode by him once while he was riding a recumbent bike on the Nashua Rail Trail. I'm not really upset as I didn't really know him but it's just weird to know that this guy... a great source of technical bike info and someone who was pretty active in the bicycling ( Read more... ) -
Rilo Kiley
Erin and I saw Rilo Kiley last weekend at Avalon. While it was a pretty cool show I've found that I'm still not really into any of the new stuff from Under the Blacklight. We learned that Jenny Lewis has no ass, but chooses to sport 70's style hot pants. Personally I think that she gets away with it, but I might just be biased towards anyone in ( Read more... ) -

I've been biking to work lately and I've found out a few things:
- Going up and down Coburn Ave just isn't worth it. Basically the road is twisty, hilly, and not likely very safe. Automobile drivers will likely have little time to register that there's a bike on the road. I nixed this route after doing it once (Did it twice last year too, and it ( Read more... )

I fixed my car and found that I'd put together the strut assembly wrong. It's supposed to be a sandwich of: washer, bushing, sleeve, bushing, washer, bolt. Well, likely in my rush to re-assemble everything I'd left out the first washer which is what really sits at the base of the whole thing. Garage Band on the Mac is pretty spiffy and a good way to kill hours of time. I spent the last hour playing Glass Vase Cello Case. I recorded the single picking part then cropped it accordingly. Click n'drag and Garage Band automatically loops that section over and over and over again. The loop wasn't perfect but done well enough so that I could ( Read more... )
