The good thing about my photography club is that you can get tips on how to improve a photo.

This, for example, is a photo I submitted in the last digital competition (and plan to resubmit to the next one, as you can enter the same image twice).

At my photography club we have a meeting once a month that is either a print or a digital competition where members enter photos into their category (primary, intermediate, advanced) and they all get judged and the best photos (well, the judge's favourites) get picked and awarded a club seal. As scientists & concerned citizens, we applaud the recent trend towards legislation which requires the prominent placing of warnings on products that present hazards to the public. Yet we must also offer the cautionary thought that such warnings, however well-intentioned, merely scratch the surface of what is really necessary in this important area ( Read more... )
