Well...
Lately I've been having hip and lower back pain any time I work out in any fashion (skating, running, yoga, etc). Went to the doctor and the X-Rays were clean, but he was troubled by the pain I've been having and some of the reactions my body gave while he prodded along my spine and hip joint. Got me some new wheels!
Yep, that's right, new wheels. If I had to spend any more time in the, no joke, $20.00 wheels my skates came with I'd shoot myself. Instead, now I have AMAZING Atom G-Rods. Not only are they a softer wheel (93a instead of the 95a I was rocking) which will help grip and help me turn better, but they're stylish :P ( Read more... ) -

See that icon there? That right leg is going to come across the left on the curve and then the back left will push off. This mechanism of motion helps you get much faster and more graceful speeds around the track. And you know what?

Roller Girls Unite!
So, amidst my slowed down practice pace thanks to an end-of-summer vacation, I was able to squeeze in some great time with girls from another league. While at DragonCon this past labor day, I skated in the convention parade with some lovely ladies from the Atlanta Rollergirls. CCRG Open Practice 2, etc...
So, though I mentioned in my last post I had t-stops down, I definitely need to work on them at faster speeds. But, it's still rewarding to get the idea.
