god, so so good. you made me feel how hard and wrenching it is for john, and for everyone really, after they do away with the regulations. achy and gorgeous.

i wanted to add - i think what i love about your fic, in general, is that you make the characters feel close. some writing is perfect and crafted and i guess pretty to look at, but it doesn't make me feel anything - but everything you write makes me feel john's pain, and rodney's, and elizabeth's discomfort and so forth - you make your readers feel right along with the characters. and in particular, you do an amazing job of making us feel the depths of the tenderness between john and rodney. i love that.

Thank you! Sometimes I wonder if I'm really expressing what I want expressed at all, because I'm a big opponent of the "John feels this way" sort of fic, wherein it's stated explicitely, because that's just lazy writing and it's a cheat for the author and the reader. So you have to write with the emotional structure in mind and have the character *act* the way those emotions would have them act.

It's a thing.

Fantastic. Brilliant handling of DADT is *so* one of my kinks. This is fantastic. And the even-handed dealing in Atlantis? And the LGBTA group loving John even before he came out? The months of adjusting to the idea of closeness and intimacy and foreplay leading to mind-boggling sex? The idea that John had stopped everything just a WEEK BEFORE THE MEMO? The implication that Rodney may or may not have held to that decision if John had risked his life again?

OMG OMGOMGOMGOMG. *loves*
