This was beautifully written!
Sorry you didn't get to say your goodbyes to the house =/ But you have all those wonderful memories that will be with you forever :)

That was lovely and I'm glad you had your goodbye.

It's been 16 years since my grandparents moved out of their old home in Kelantan, where my dad grew up, and I still feel a little sad that I only have the smallest shreds of childhood recollections to remember it by.

Still, its nice you have a few memories of your dad's home. Some people never get the chance to see where their parents grew up!

This was so nice to read and so sad at the same time. I'm really glad that you have found closure. And I know that the house will always remain in your heart. I have always said my goodbyes to all the places that I've lived in. It's really sad to say goodbye but it helps me to move on.

I think its so important to say goodbye to places! I realise now that I've neglected that important transition on so many occasions.

Amazing post. It got me thinking about my childhood home. When I walk past I always get a funny feeling that I can't quite describe, but your words kind of captured it.

Thanks, glad my post captured an elusive emotion. I'm usually not very good at writing out these feelings, but for some reason this post came out quickly and relatively painlessly. I guess my subconscious has been mulling over it for a while.
