The First New-Old Word of 2005, as chosen by me

Every so often, I try to bring back an old word (one that has fallen out of popular usage, usually through no fault of its own) that I like. The first selection for this year is the word hussy. Oh Oh! Do I get some brownies or something for calling someone a hussy? I don't know if you remember on DH when my neighbor had beef with me and called me white trash. I called her a hussy. Can you FedEx brownies?

I use them all the same! But maybe you could use a phrase, like "dressed like a hussy."

Okay, I checked several online dictionaries, and they seem to agree that the definition is:
1 -- A woman considered brazen or immoral; a female adulterer.
2 -- A saucy or impudent girl.

So I would use it as a synonym for "ho" or "skank" or "slut," personally.
