The experience of loosing David has pretty much shaken up the iron tough an unshakable Lord Liam; not only his not even accepted feelings but his total identification with the slavery system as well.
Orlando/David has surely been broken, but I think together with support and love of his Lord and with some proffesional help there is hope for him to regain some of his earlier light.
Great story, I am very glad you managed to return to this story and finish it.
Thank so much for sharing!

Thanks back for commenting. :D

And yes, Liam changed a lot more by the end than I ever imagined he would at the beginning, or even just a handful of chapters ago. That was pretty cool from my end :) and I'm happy it worked for you as well.

I am very glad you managed to return to this story and finish it.

That makes two of us, seriously! [grin]

A bit bittersweet and melancholy end, but it's the best they could hope for under the circumstances. Time will heal most wounds and I'll have to believe they'll make their way to a better place and Lord Neesom has definitely had his eyes opened. That's a good thing.

I'm so glad you finished this and gave them a fitting end! (And that Marton got exactly what he deserved, although I'd have rather seen him sold into the system to get a taste of his own medicine.)

The boys will do the best they can with what they have to work with, and the world they have to live in. [nod]

Dumping Marton into the slave system might've been a more poetic ending, but he was a danger to David and therefore he had to die, for the same reason Anderson did. And killing him with his hands was rather satisfying for Liam at the time he did it, even if it didn't solve many of their actual problems. :/

Thanks!

This was a good ending to the story; hardly happy and definitely bittersweet but it couldn't be anything else and still be believable.

I know that you have no plans for a sequel but I really hope that you will decide to explore it further at some point.

Thank you so much for sharing this.

If I could duplicate myself, or if someone could get me a thirty-hour day, I'd love to write more in this verse. :) I'll bet a lot of people are searching for the same things, though. Whoever finds it first will have to share....

Thank you -- I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if the ending wasn't a pure HEA. :D
