I've been bored lately, so I'm trying to develop hobbies. Although I have a lot of great ideas, I tend to never follow through on anything. For example, I want to learn to crochet, so for me the logical next step would be to read some stuff on the internet about learning to crochet, go to a store and buy a bunch of yarn and whatever shit you need ( Read more... )

If you want to plan a pretend vacation then ... how about 4 days in Marakesh at the end of February?

The fact that I'm going to be there then, for that length of time has nothing to do with my suggestion ... ;-)

I'm really bad with the yarn stuff too. Must be an ADD thing because I like to do it for a short amount of time and then it all goes in the spare closet.

I know. I've been like that since I was a kid -- I love getting big ideas and starting things, but I always end up bored and then quit (or want to quit).

I have 2/3 of a scarf knitted and I wound the yarn up all pretty but it's sitting in a giant pile next to my bed. It looks like I'm crafty but I'm really not. :P

Oh also, this is funny -- after all my talk here about not picking up new hobbies that require buying stuff, I just ordered some stuff from a bead store so I can make necklaces. LOL but hopefully this is okay because I know what I want to do and each project shouldn't take more than like 15 minutes -- even I won't get bored in 15 minutes. Knitting seems like such a huge commitment.

Tying a house key to your pants with a ribbon is so freaking Paris I can't stand it.

Seriously -- just that little thing symbolizes the entire Paris lifestyle I wish I could have.
