I've been in kind of a strange way spiritually in recent months. Over the summer I realized that I wasn't being fed at the church I was going to, which brought the added complecation of one of the ministers being a childhood mentor of mine. If you ever want to be part of a church where liturgy is simple and you want to be part a tradition and history that dates back to Christ, try the Roman Catholic Church. It's a beautiful liturgy and rich history with a deep faith. I've never felt more at home or more at peace since I decided to become Catholic. It's enriched my life in countless ways, but most importantly, has brought me to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Just a thought. If you're ever interested, I can tell you more of my own personal spiritual history which involved some "church hopping" and soul searching.

Huh, my understanding is that Roman Catholic liturgy is pretty involved. When you say "simple" you have to remember that what I'm coming from could be considered bare bones.

My other issue is theology. I couldn't become a member of the Roman Catholic church because I believe that some of their beliefs are less than sound. Granted, I believe that of almost every major belief, and not just catholics, but it's there.

Third issue is that I'm not after a church that has history dating back to Christ. I know that the Catholic and Orthodox churches are the only ones who can claim that, and I respect both beliefs incredibly. But, I'm looking for a church with the spirit, beliefs, and practices of the 1st century church, or as close to it as possible.
