There are going to be a lot of people not liking what I'm about to say; I feel very sorry for his little girl, his parents and the rest of his family, but not for him. Yes, he was a talented actor, he was gorgeous, and he was way too young to die, but, he chose to do drugs, so this happened through his own stupidity and selfishness. Yes, I said selfishness. Having spent 5 good years of my life trying to 'reform' a drug addict that I had a child by, I finally woke up and wised up to the fact that people who do drugs are, for the most part, selfish and self destructive. I realized that there were three people in that relationship, two of whom were being hurt but he was not one, and I left. I have no sympathy for addicts who stupidly choose to destroy themselves, and it is pretty much their own choice. That's just my opinion, though, as I said, my sympathies go out to his family.
I was also rather shocked to read this - such a young and talented man.
I do think it's rather early to be condemning the man and labelling his death as drug-related when we don't even know what the actual cause of death was. There has been no official cause of death as there has been no post-mortem.
The article I read said that drugs may have been involved, but, I will amend my statemnet to say that IF the cause of death was a drug overdose, which the article said it might have been, then I won't feel sympathy for him, but I will for those he left behind. If it was osmething else, then my that's a different story where my feelings toward him are concerned.
I've been terribly sad about this since I heard...I did a jaw-drop double-take when I saw the news bulletin. I really liked Heath and thought he had great potential. I feel very sorry for his little girl and those he left behind.
From what I've read thus far, there were no obvious signs of suicide, just prescription sleep aids, which a huge population of people take (hell, I'm on OTC-Melatonin and Rx-Lorazepam per doctor's orders if I can't sleep)...and it is VERY easy to overdose on said things because you still may have trouble sleeping, so you wake up a lil, take a few more, rinse, repeat, and not realize just how many you've taken. That's often how it happens and it's why they can be dangerous.
Bless his heart if all he was doing was trying to get some sleep - he has all he needs now. :( I'll miss him.
Yes, it's very easy to get confused with sleeping pills - the reason I will no longer have any in the house.
It saddens me to see how people always assume the worst - that it must have been suicide or an overdose of illegal drugs. To me, it is starting to sound like one of those dreadful, sad accidents - an insomniac who did not realise, in his sleep and exhaustion - that he had taken too many prescription pills or perhaps a side-effect of said pills.
