Well, I had my Disability/SSI appeals hearing today, Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, and I won!! My lawyer pointed out to the current judge that not only did the previous judge make his ruling with insufficient information, but also used the wrong statutes to do so! We might be able to get a new place. I just have to come up with $650. I've called all over the town I live in to every landlord who takes Section 8 rental assistance, and the only place that has an apartment (and a 2 bedroom at that) wants a security deposit of $650 up front. I found a link to this article on Viggo's Perceval Press website and even though I myself am caucasion (white if you prefer) and I know that some might find this offensive, I find it very true.
