Debarked from the subway nine blocks from my stop just so I could find myself a cucumber at the crack den fruit & veg stand. (My roommate made a big pot of hummus, and I neeeded an accompaniment.) I'm doing brain studies for extra cash, and today was my visit to the MRI machine near Columbia University. I got electrodes all over my chest, earplugs and headphones, Tron-esque computer-screen goggles, weights on my head and shoulders to keep me from moving, strapped to the table, and then popped in like an S&M bun into the oven. Does anyone want to sleep outside for Betty White/Jay-Z on SNL? I think for Franz Ferdinand/Catherine Zeta-Jones I got there at about midnight, and for Muse/James Franco I got there maybe ... 2 o'clock in the morning? Considering the nicer weather and the hype surrounding this, we'd probably have to be there at like, nine.

Catching up on Tennant-Who. I fully admit to tearing up when he changed over. I'm sure Matt Smith is great, but Tennant was just fantastic, wasn't he?

Everyone's said it already, but I'll say it again: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is an awesome film.

I've got to avoid trailers - I came away thinking both that and Kick-Ass looked a bit corny, and saw the ones for Clash of the Titans and Tron: Legacy and thought, "Oooh, those will be good!"

Plans for today: shopping, a museum exhibit of illustrations called Dinotopia, and the movies. I was hoping for rain - ah, no, it's gorgeous out. :) Andy Samberg is playing at the local university tonight, and I'm weighing the idea of going ( Read more... )
