My turnip isn't changing much. I put four push pins in the bottom to raise it up, so that if there were any un-waxed spots they wouldn't go mushy. If anyone has read Terry Pratchett, they'll know what I mean when I say it has a very Discworld look about it, reminiscent of The Trunk (which has 100 feeties).

Today I splurged because temptation got the better of me. El cheapo Price Chopper supermarket had orchids - poor pathetic things - roots probably ok, but they were all pretty battered-looking. We await freezing rain, rain, ice pellets, freezing rain and, they say, by tomorrow afternoon, more snow. The temp when I arose this morning at 7.20 was -12C, and at 12.15 pm, it is zero Celsius. I hope it will all be over by Tuesday midnight ( Read more... )
